Kamael Mishra is a self-taught abstract painter working primarily with acrylic on canvas to create layered and texture-filled pieces. She has honed her craft since leaving more than two decades of work as a practicing dental hygienist following the pandemic. Her abstract work is influenced by the natural surroundings of her native Vermont and reflects the vision of an artist keen to express serenity and provoke intrigue on canvas, using organic movement and intuitive color. When not painting, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and dog, Beau, at her home in Washington, DC.
